Privacy Policy

Zap Pay POS ("the App") is a merchant point-of-sale application operated by Zap ("Zap", "we", "us"). It lets a merchant accept cryptocurrency payments in person. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. It covers the App only; payments and settlement are governed by your Zap Pay merchant agreement.

Who this is for

The App is for merchants — the business owner or staff taking payments. It is not a consumer wallet. Your customers do not need the App; they pay by scanning a QR code with any wallet.

Information we collect

Account — the email address you sign in with. We send a one-time code to verify it. Sign-in uses your existing Zap Pay account.
Merchant & payment data — your business profile, accepted tokens, settlement currency, and the payments (checkouts and transactions) you create through the App. This is processed by the Zap Pay backend to create charges and show your history.
Authentication tokens — a secure session token is stored on your device's protected keychain so you stay signed in. It never leaves your device except to authenticate requests to Zap.
Diagnostics (optional) — if enabled, anonymous crash and performance data helps us fix bugs. No payment details are included.

We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or use the camera. The App does not access your customers' personal data.

Your funds are non-custodial

Zap Pay POS does not hold, custody, or move your crypto. Payments settle to the destination configured on your own Zap Pay account. The App is an interface for creating charges and displaying payment status.

How we use information

To sign you in and keep your session secure.
To create payment requests and show you their status and history.
To operate, protect, and improve the App (fraud prevention, debugging).

We do not sell your personal information or use it for third-party advertising.

Sharing

Information is shared with the Zap Pay backend and infrastructure providers that operate the service on our behalf (e.g. cloud hosting, and — if enabled — a crash-reporting provider), under obligations of confidentiality and only as needed to run the App. We may disclose information if required by law.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Session tokens are held in the device keychain / secure storage. No method is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data using industry-standard measures.

Retention

Account and transaction records are retained for as long as your Zap Pay account is active and as required for legal, accounting, and compliance purposes. Signing out removes the session token from your device.

Your rights

You may access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements, by contacting us. Deleting the App removes local data from the device; to close your merchant account, contact Zap Pay.

Children

The App is a business tool intended for adults and is not directed to children.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
